INDIANAPOLIS -- Goran Suton scored 20 points and Michigan State was steady from the foul line, defeating defending NCAA champion Kansas 67-62 Friday night in the Midwest Regional semifinals.
Kalin Lucas added 18 points for the Spartans (29-6).
Michigan State advanced to play Louisville on Sunday for a trip to the Final Four. The top-seeded Cardinals defeated Arizona 103-64 earlier in the night.
Sherron Collins scored 20 points and Cole Aldrich had 17 points and 14 rebounds for Kansas (27-7).

I can't believe Michigan State has come this far. Tom Izzo is, in my opinion, the best coach in college basketball right now. Look at the Spartans talent in comparison with the UNCs and Louisville's of the world and tell me he isn't doing more with less. The Spartans' swarming defense and tremendously smart shot selection — see Goran Suton's last game — has allowed them to make such a deep tourney run.
ReplyDeleteWhat is incredible to me, is that AGAIN, he has managed to get EVERY senior (in the past 8 years now) that plays for him either to the final four or a big ten tournament championship....Just unbelievable.
