Top Five Big Ten Coaches (Football and Men's Basketball)

Between Big Ten basketball and football, the conference has some of the best coaches the country has to offer. Here are my top five. This is taking into account the overall success of the coach and the current state of the program.

1. Tom Izzo - Michigan State Basketball



2. Jim Tressel - Ohio State Football



3. Kirk Ferentz - Iowa Football



4. Joe Paterno - Penn State Football



5. Thad Matta - Ohio State Basketball

    I would put Jo Pa in first, Izzo is a good choice and all, but Jo Pa is legendary, and I think winning a national championship in football is harder than basketball.

    I think an intersting top 5 coaches blog would be "top 5 all-time big ten coaches." that has the potential for an awesome debate.
